High-sensitivity mass spectrometry analysis of pericardial fluid derived extracellular vesicles (EVs)
The overall goal of this project is the complex characterization of pericardial fluid derived EVs by immunological and proteomic analysis. Isolated EVs are analysed by multicolor flow cytometry and high-sensitivity mass spectrometry. Proteomics performed by functional enrichment and network analysis (FunRich), is correlated with the commonly used diagnostic and prognostic markers (laboratory parameters, inflammatory markers, computer tomography). We hypothesized that the combination of the commonly used diagnostic and prognostic markers with the complex characterization of pericardial fluid extracellular vesicle pattern will result new biomarkers and will enhance the sensitivity of the risk assessment of cardiovascular diseases.
