NMR spectroscopy plays a unique role in structural biology by providing both structural and dynamic information on biomolecules and their interactions. Its further advantage is that the microscopic atomic-level information obtained by NMR can be related to macroscopically measurable thermodynamic and kinetic parameters. Within the framework of the current grant we investigate two systems: alpha-synuclein associated with neurodegenerative diseases and human ileal bile acid-binding protein known to have a role in the maintenance of cholesterol homeostasis.
