The aim of the three-days summer school was to train young researchers in the field of protein structure analysis. 20 registered participants were educated to be able to interpret and evaluate experimental results. The Summer School offered a venue for networking and exchange of experiences as well. The Summer School was based on a theoretical course on the first day, following a two-days practical training on four different locations: in the laboratories of the ELTE Institute of Chemistry, the Research Centre for Natural Sciences (Hungarian Academy of Sciences), and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
Organizers were Veronika Harmat, PhD (Laboratory of Structural Chemistry and Biology, MTA-ELTE Protein Model. Res. Group, ELTE Institute of Chemistry) and Gitta Schlosser, PhD (MTA-ELTE Research Group of Peptide Chemistry, ELTE Institute of Chemistry).

Lecturers of the Summer School were from three different institutes:

Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Applied Biotechnology and Food Science: Prof. Beáta Vértessy G.; Ibolya Leveles, PhD; Zsófia Bata and Kinga Nyíri.
Research Centre for Natural Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Chemical Crystallography Department: Petra Bombicz, PhD; Tamás Holczbauer, PhD; Nóra May, PhD
Research Centre for Natural Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, MS Proteomics Research Group: Lilla Turiák, PhD
ELTE Institute of Chemistry, Laboratory of Structural Chemistry and Biology, MTA-ELTE Protein Model. Res. Group: Veronika Harmat, PhD
ELTE Institute of Chemistry, MTA-ELTE Research Group of Peptide Chemistry: Gitta Schlosser, PhD
